Background of the Study

Supplier collaboration refers to the strategic partnership between a company and its suppliers to jointly improve product quality, streamline processes, and achieve mutual business goals. In industries such as food manufacturing, supplier collaboration is essential for ensuring consistent product quality, minimizing production disruptions, and optimizing supply chain efficiency. UAC Foods, a leading Nigerian food processing company, relies heavily on supplier collaboration to maintain high-quality standards across its product lines. In Yobe State, where UAC Foods operates several facilities and relies on local suppliers, effective collaboration with suppliers is crucial for ensuring the quality and safety of food products (Adedeji & Musa, 2023).

Quality management in the food sector is critical due to the direct impact on consumer health and satisfaction. UAC Foods has invested in building strong, collaborative relationships with its suppliers to ensure that raw materials meet stringent quality standards, regulatory requirements, and sustainability practices. In Yobe State, supplier collaboration can improve product traceability, reduce defects, and foster innovation in food production (Nwachukwu & Oladimeji, 2024).

This study aims to explore how supplier collaboration influences quality management in UAC Foods' operations in Yobe State, evaluating the practices, benefits, and challenges of such collaborations.
